Changing perspectives and a variety of roles in my daily routines are enabling me to tackle wicked problems, but also allow me to deep dive in scientific contexts. Life long learning for me is a principle of designing and a fundamental impetus. Please, take a look at my LinkedIn profile for a more detailed CV.
PhD candidate, Design Research and Teaching
I am a PhD candidate at the TUM – Technical University of Munich, Urban Design, working on behalf of MCube – Munich cluster for the future of mobility in metropolitan regions. In my research, I explore the role of design in socio-technical transition processes, with a particular focus on mobility and the transformation of urban space and environment. I am especially interested in the social dynamics and actors involved in these transitions, and in how we can design co-creative environments that enable and support systemic change within planetary boundaries. With a background in Industrial Design, I combine perspectives from Ecological and Social Sustainability, Participatory Design, Design Futuring and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). I engage in scientific discourse on these questions and welcome opportunities for exchange and collaboration in transdisciplinary research contexts. As a member of the Systemic Design Association (SDA), I contribute to international discussions linking systems thinking to design methodology. In addition, I enjoy teaching and have completed the Certificate in Higher Education Teaching (Hochschullehre Bayern) within the Bavarian university didactics programme, following national standards of the German Society for Higher Education Didactics.Co-Founder and Partner
überkochen e.V.In my studies of the M.Sc. program in industrial design at TUM I had the great chance to develop my own social enterprise together with Constanze Buckenlei. What might design offer for the educational sector? We started with this research question and kept on working on a new and practiced-based way of learning. überkochen e.V. brings cooking into classrooms and combines it with classes for maths, physics, English and so on. In 2018, we got honored as Kultur- und Kreativpiloten by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy. There is still a lot of motivation and work to do in activating students in their interests and enabling them to live the SDGs – Sustainable Development Goals – in their daily lives.
